Kari Roe has been a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of nursing experience. She began her nursing career in 1996 after transitioning from the Emergency Medical Technician field into nursing. Kari is a Certified Integrative Trauma Coach and Practitioner, a graduate of InnerTrek’s Psilocybin Facilitator Program, and has completed the Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy program from The Ketamine Training Center. Presently she is enrolled in the Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Certification program at Naropa University. Kari attributes psychedelic medicines as saving her life and she is passionate about bringing this healing modality to the community and beyond. She considers herself to be a wounded healer as a survivor of childhood sexual trauma, complex PTSD, and being in recovery for an eating disorder which has caused her heart failure among many other health issues. Kari has spent a large portion of her life on the dark side of depression and has found much-needed relief in psychedelic-assisted treatment.
Kari has four adult sons and one grandson, who is a constant joy in her life. She is a former triathlete and marathon runner and now spends time enjoying nature, plants, hikes, walks, traveling, and adventure-seeking. Kari lives with her partner in northwest Peoria where she enjoys the beautiful Arizona sunsets nearly every night and the Sonoran Desert every day.
With living a life full of trauma, grief, and loss, Kari has a deep and personal knowledge of what it is like to suffer. Her goal is to serve as a compassionate witness to your journey because she has been there. Kari believes she can be a true partner in your healing. She is honored to have been able to support others in their healing journeys. Kari has very deep and personal connections to the military, LGBTQ+, and substance use communities. Her foundational beliefs include mental health matters and is not separate from our physical health.
